Course Overview:

This course is designed to present first year high school algebra content which will prepare students for future math courses like Geometry and Algebra 2. The year will focus on solving equations with multi-steps; adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying polynomials as well as with polynomial fractions; factoring polynomials through many different methods; application of fractions with ratios, percents, and negative exponents; graphing and solving of linear functions; solving systems of equations and inequalities; rational and irrational numbers; and culminating with solving quadratic functions. Students will also apply their algebra reasoning skills to real world problems throughout the course.
